The Surface Hardener for Every Industrial Floor

SUPAHARD is a ready-to-use factory blended cementitious powder, formulated to provide a hard wearing and colourful surface when applied as a dry shake over freshly floated concrete. It contains specially selected aggregates with excellent abrasion and wear-resistance, combined with cementitious binders, plasticizers and admixtures to provide a tough, durable and colourful floor.

Manufactured under technical collaboration with Imper Oriente – USA, SUPAHARD forms a monolithic bond with the base concrete — making it the floor hardener of choice for warehouses, garages, factories, power stations, and aircraft hangars where wear and durability are paramount.

Engineered for Extreme Wear

SUPAHARD combines superior aggregates with cementitious binders to create an industrial floor surface that significantly outperforms ordinary concrete.

Denser Than Concrete

Provides a denser and more durable surface than the concrete itself — significantly extending floor life even in the most abrasive industrial environments.

Oil & Grease Resistant

Reduces dusting and actively resists oil and grease penetration, making the floor easy to clean and maintain in workshops, garages, and factories.

Factory Mixed & Ready to Use

Pre-blended cementitious formulation — simply broadcast directly from the bag onto fresh concrete. No on-site batching required, increasing ease and consistency of application.

Interior & Exterior

Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications — from covered warehouses to exposed loading bays, garages and open-air factory floors.

Colourful Surface Finish

Available in grey and multiple other colours on request — allowing floor zones to be colour-coded for safety, traffic routing, or aesthetics in industrial environments.

Monolithic Bond to Concrete

Forms a permanently integrated bond with the base concrete slab — no delamination, no separate layer failure. SUPAHARD becomes part of the floor itself.

Base Concrete Requirements

For SUPAHARD to bond and perform correctly, the base concrete must meet minimum specification. Do not apply to substandard concrete.

Important Note

The base concrete must be completely devoid of chloride admixtures and salt contaminated aggregates to ensure full adhesion and long-term performance of the SUPAHARD layer.

How to Apply

SUPAHARD is applied by the dry shake broadcast method directly onto freshly floated concrete. Follow these steps for a professional, durable hardened floor.

01
Preparation

Calculate the total quantity of SUPAHARD required, divide and mark the area into suitable bays and set out the bags evenly around the perimeter. Ensure wooden hand floats and power floats are on site and ready to use.

02
Placing Concrete

Deposit concrete between screed points with minimum handling. Move with square tipped shovel or solid bladed tools. Insert vibrators vertically — do not use them to move concrete. Level and consolidate with wooden bull floats or hand floats. Remove any bleed water from the surface.

03
Applying the First Shake

When the concrete has set enough to leave a 3–6 mm footprint, broadcast 2/3 of the quantity evenly over the surface. As the material darkens, work on the surface with wooden float. When using power floats, ensure the surface is not over-worked as this causes excessive moisture surfacing.

04
Applying the Second Shake

Immediately following the first float, broadcast the balance 1/3 at right angles to the initial broadcast. Once the material darkens, float with a power float bringing moisture completely through. For heavy duty applications, split the first broadcast into half, followed by two broadcasts each with the full quantity at right angles.

Bay Edges

Extreme care is needed at bay edges and corners as they endure heavy wear and tear. Bay edges are reinforced by one of two methods: (a) Immediately after levelling the fresh concrete, sprinkle by hand at 5 kg/m² in strips of 10 cm width along the bay edges (i.e. 0.5 kg/running meter); or (b) Remove a wedge of concrete 10 mm deep at the edges and apply a stiff mass of SUPAHARD mixed with clean water, fully compacted to the base concrete.

Caution: Timing of the broadcast is critical. Adequate labour, material and machinery must be available to complete the whole area while moisture is still present. Do not apply when bleed water is still present, and never add extra water when finishing — this proves detrimental to the system and results in patched surfaces when using coloured SUPAHARD.

Technical Specifications

Precisely formulated and independently tested — every batch of SUPAHARD meets exacting quality standards to BS 1881 and ASTM C 779-89.

Storage & Shelf Life

Store in cool and dry conditions. Extreme temperatures, excessive humidity, and over-exposure to UV will reduce shelf life. 12 months shelf life when stored as per recommendations.

What Makes SUPAHARD Stand Out

Superior Abrasion Resistance

Achieves a minimum of 220% abrasion resistance compared to normal concrete — dramatically reducing wear-related maintenance costs on heavily trafficked industrial floors.

Dust-Free Surface

Significantly reduces dusting — a common problem with unprotected concrete floors that causes contamination in factories, food processing plants and clean environments.

Monolithic Integration

SUPAHARD forms a permanent monolithic bond with the concrete slab — unlike surface coatings or toppings, it does not delaminate under heavy traffic or thermal cycling.

Multiple Colour Options

Available in grey and multiple custom colours on request — enabling colour-coded safety zoning, traffic lane marking, and branded floor finishes within a single application.

Efficient Dry Shake Method

Dry shake application eliminates the need for separate topping mixes, screeds, or coatings — the entire hardened surface is created in a single operation during concrete placing.

Built for
Tough Environments

SUPAHARD is proven across a wide range of high-wear industrial and commercial flooring applications — wherever abrasion resistance, durability and low maintenance matter most.

Health, Safety & Storage

As with all cementitious construction products, caution should always be exercised during handling and application of SUPAHARD.

Protective Equipment

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear suitable gloves and eye protection at all times when handling and applying SUPAHARD to prevent irritation.

Respiratory Protection

Avoid inhaling the product as it could result in irritation of the respiratory system. Wear appropriate dust mask or respirator especially during the dry shake broadcast stage.

Eye & Skin Contact

In case of eye or skin contact, flush immediately and thoroughly with clean, fresh water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists after flushing. Refer to the MSDS for full details.

Storage Conditions

Store in cool and dry conditions. Avoid extreme temperatures, excessive humidity, and prolonged UV exposure — these will reduce the shelf life of the product.

Curing Water: Use only clean water for curing purposes. Salt water and brackish water must not be used as they will adversely affect the cured floor hardener.

Shelf Life: 12 months when stored in cool and dry conditions in the original sealed 20 kg bags.
